Most recently I’ve been working on smaller projects for myself and with my students at Columbia University and Hunter College. I’ve been working on a format I’m calling ‘scrapbideo’. The premies is simple; scrapbideos are video scrapbooks of special events. While I’m looking for the story in them, it isn’t essential to find one, nor am I’m compelled to artificially create one as you might find in one of those corny wedding videos. Doing the scrapbideos has allowed me to get more comfortable with other areas of filmmaking besides the writing; I have my own camera now and am doing my own shooting and my own basic editing.
Earlier this year I worked on the development of a documentary film project about a female adventure racer. It is possible that this project will get started fall 2009. I’m in conversation with a potential director and lead cinematographer and am currently functioning as the Creative Producer on the project.
