SARAH E SHIVELY | CALENDAR PROJECT

The Shively Calendar Concept aka the Metric Calendar is a calendar that introduces a 10-day week based on the classic Gregorian system currently in use as the international civic calendar. The current 12-month cycle is retained with each month having 3 weeks of 10 days each. The outstanding 5 or 6 days of the year are assigned to the end of the year as a ‘half week’.

The Metric calendar is secular in design, begins on the winter solstice and aims to reduce our carbon imprint by lowering the number of days worked each month to 18-21 from our current 20-22 day system while structuring the work week and weekend in order to increase productivity.

I will be creating an online survey soon, so please come back and participate!!
